An Alkaline Diet - Roadmap to Optimum Health
The pH of your body comprises of an acid and alkaline level, measured between 1 & 14. This is becoming the main focus of attention in the recovery and prevention of illness and disease resulting from acidosis (acidic state of the body). Extensive scientific research has indicated healthy people have an alkaline system.
If there is an imbalance in your body’s pH this can negatively affect the health of all your body’s systems such as circulatory, digestive, endocrine, immune, lymphatic, muscular, nervous, reproductive, respiratory, skeletal, and urinary. This can lead to illness and in some chronic cases disease. Due to the amount of acidic forming foods in the modern diet, most people are exposed to heightened levels of:

• Low energy levels
• Chronic fatigue
• Thrush
The pH of your body is just as important as a stable body temperature of 37 degrees. The pH of your blood stream is just as sensitive and needs to be a stable pH of 7.34, to quite literally stop the cells of your body corroding! Your body will go to great lengths to keep a stable pH, including causing havoc on the rest of the body robbing calcium from bones to buffer the acid in your system, causing many other symptoms.
When your body is at optimum health you are in an alkaline state. Diseased cells have a pH of 7 and below. Pathogens (bacteria, yeast, viruses and fungi) can only survive in an acidic environment, not an alkaline one, which is above a pH of 7.
The function of your body goes beyond nutrition, the cellular structure of your body comprises of 750 trillion cells. We are 70% water; if your cells are bathing in acidic water they become less efficient at absorbing nutrients due to having to protect themselves from acid and in worse cases become starved of oxygen creating a breeding ground for cancer and other diseases.
